Before you can drive an ambulance, the DVLA requires you to undergo a medical examination in order to ensure that you are physically fit. A general physical examination and an eye examination are required as part of this medical. DVLA approves the results of these tests after they are completed. Those who have been approved to drive ambulances can get behind the wheel.
In the next step, you must prepare for the C1 HGV theory test and the hazard perception test. Craig Baker Driver Training provides all study materials. Upon passing the tests, you'll be ready to begin your driving lessons.
The C1 driving test lasts approximately 60 minutes and includes a variety of driving tasks. You must demonstrate safe and responsible driving and follow instructions from the driving examiner. You must also show that you understand the Highway Code. The examiner will assess your driving performance throughout the test and will make a determination of pass or fail at the end. The examiner will also provide feedback on your driving. You must pass the practical test to get your C1 driver's licence.
Once you have passed the 3B test you will be fully qualified to drive ambulances up to 7.5ton
