Medical examinations are required by the DVLA before you can drive an ambulance to ensure your physical fitness. As part of this medical, a general physical examination and an eye examination are required. These tests are approved by the DVLA after they are completed and a provisional C1 licence will be issued

Theory Test & Hazard Perception

As a next step, you will need to prepare for the C1 HGV theory test and the hazard perception test. A complete set of study materials is provided by Craig Baker Driver Training. We can also provide theory test preparation lessons if you need them. When you feel confident, you can book your test at one of the official DVSA test centres. We can help you with this too. Once you have passed your theory tests, you will be ready to begin your ambulance driving lessons.

Practical C1 Ambulance Driving Test

Next, you will start to prepare for your 3A practical reversing test, our professional instructor will teach you how to perform the reversing exercise after that you will start on the on-road driving and preparing for your 3B practical on-road test.

Once you have passed the 3B test you will be fully qualified to drive ambulances up to 7.5ton
