It is necessary to undergo a medical examination in order to drive an ambulance. As part of this medical, a general physical examination and an eye examination are required. When these tests are approved, the DVLA will issue a provisional C1 licence

Theory Test & Hazard Perception

Taking the C1 HGV theory test and the hazard perception test will be the next step. The study materials provided by Craig Baker Driver Training are comprehensive. If you require theory test preparation lessons, we can provide them. As soon as you feel confident, we will be able to book your test at one of the DVSA's official test centres. As soon as you have passed your theory tests, you can begin learning how to drive an ambulance.

Practical C1 Ambulance Driving Test

There are a variety of driving tasks included in the C1 driving test, which lasts approximately 60 minutes. You must demonstrate safe and responsible driving and follow instructions from the driving examiner. You must also show that you understand the Highway Code. The examiner will assess your driving performance throughout the test and will make a determination of pass or fail at the end. The examiner will also provide feedback on your driving. Your C1 driver's licence can only be obtained after you pass the practical test.

Once you have passed the 3B test you will be fully qualified to drive ambulances up to 7.5ton
